Navigating the portal

Every signed-in page shares the same frame: a sidebar on the left and a top bar above the page. This page describes both, plus sign-in and sign-out.

Sign in and out

The portal root (/, for example http://localhost:3000) is a public product page. Sign in and Get started both open the sign-in page at /login. After you sign in you land on the Dashboard. See Local setup for the sign-in options.

To sign out, select Sign out at the bottom of the sidebar or in the account menu, then confirm.

The sidebar logo opens the Dashboard. Items are grouped. What you see depends on your role:

GroupItems (rail label)Who sees them
WorkspaceDashboard (Home), AI Subscriptions (Subs)Everyone
Build & monitorAPI Keys (Keys), API reference (API), Models, Guardrails (Guard), Request Logs (Logs)Everyone
Measure & optimizeFinOps Analytics (FinOps), Tokenomics (Tokens), Agent FinOps (Agents)Everyone
Cost managementBudgets, Chargeback (Charge), Cost Centers (Centers), Tags, Customers (Clients)Everyone
FinOps Attribution (Attrib.), Cost Events (Events)Team, org and platform admins
AdministrationApprovals (Inbox)Team, org and platform admins, and anyone who reviews governed spend requests or has approvals waiting
Spend Governance (Govern), TeamsTeam, org and platform admins
Organizations (Orgs)Org and platform admins
Users, Access & Tiers (Access), AuditPlatform admins (ADMIN, ADMIN_VIEWER)

Chargeback, Cost Centers, FinOps Attribution and Cost Events open only for platform admins. Other roles who see them in the sidebar get an error page.

Below the groups are Documentation (opens this site in a new tab), Settings and Sign out.

When requests wait for you, Approvals shows a count badge. The Administration header shows the same count.

In the full sidebar, select a group header to expand or collapse it. Workspace and Measure & optimize start expanded. So does the group that holds the current page, and Administration when approvals are waiting.

Full sidebar and rail

The sidebar has two widths:

  • Full: group headers and full item names.
  • Rail (mini in Settings): icons with the short labels shown in brackets above. Groups are separated by dividers and every item is listed. Hover an icon to see its full name.

Switch between them with the menu button at the left of the top bar or Ctrl+B (Cmd+B on macOS). The choice is saved to your account, as Sidebar under Settings → Appearance.

FinOps Analytics (/usage) always opens with the rail to make room for its views panel. Toggling the sidebar there is temporary. Other pages keep your saved choice.

On screens narrower than 900 px the sidebar is hidden. The menu button opens the full sidebar as a drawer, which closes when you open a page.

Top bar

From left to right:

  • Menu button: switches the sidebar between full and rail (or opens the drawer on narrow screens).
  • Organization switcher: see below.
  • Search (Ctrl+K / Cmd+K): see below.
  • Dark / Light toggle: switches the theme and saves it to your account. It is hidden on narrow screens; use Dark mode in Settings → Appearance instead.
  • Notifications bell: see below.
  • Account menu (your initials): your name and role, Settings and Sign out.

Organization switcher

The switcher shows your active organization. It is hidden if you belong to no organization, and it opens a list only when there are two or more choices.

  • Platform admins (ADMIN, ADMIN_VIEWER) see All organizations plus every organization.
  • Everyone else sees the organizations they belong to, with their role.

Choosing an organization saves it and reloads the page data. Pages that support it narrow their data to that organization; each page guide says how. For example, the Dashboard narrows its KPIs, spend and key counts.

Select Search or press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on macOS) to open the search dialog. Type at least two characters to search:

  • Keys, Teams, Organizations, Models, Tags and Customers
  • Users (platform admins only)
  • Requests, by request ID (six or more characters)

Platform admins search everything. Other users find their own keys and the keys of teams they review, plus the teams and organizations they belong to.

The Go to list jumps to any sidebar page you can see, Documentation, Settings and Request a key. Platform admins also get Platform recommendations and Control Center. It matches page names and common synonyms. For example, usage finds FinOps Analytics.

Use the arrow keys and Enter to open a result, and Esc to close.

Notifications

The bell shows your unread count and updates automatically. Opening it lists recent notifications, such as budget alerts, approvals and account updates, and marks them all as read. Select a notification to open the related page.

Platform admins can also send these events to Slack, Microsoft Teams or email from Settings → Control Center → Integrations.
